Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and MJ Productions, the operator of Budgii. By creating an account or using Budgii, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be legally capable of entering this agreement in the place where you live.

2. The Budgii service

Budgii provides tools for recording expenses, planning budgets, processing receipts and coordinating household finances. Features may differ by device, platform, region or subscription level and may change over time.

3. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate information, keep your login details secure and promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

You may not create an account for another person without authority or use Budgii in a way that impersonates or misrepresents your identity or affiliation.

4. Shared households

Household owners and authorised members can invite others and control access roles. Information added to a shared household may be visible to other members according to those permissions. Only invite people you trust and review household access regularly.

You must have permission to upload or share information about another person. Household owners are responsible for managing membership and deciding how shared household information is used.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of information and images you submit. You give us a limited licence to host, process, reproduce and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve Budgii and comply with law.

You must not upload content that is unlawful, malicious, infringes another person’s rights or that you are not authorised to use.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break the law or another person’s rights through Budgii;
• attempt to bypass security, access another account or probe the service without permission;
• introduce malware, overload the service or interfere with its operation;
• scrape, copy, resell or commercially exploit the service except as expressly authorised;
• reverse engineer Budgii except where applicable law expressly allows it; or
• use automated systems in a way that creates unreasonable load or risk.

7. Third-party services

Budgii relies on third-party platforms and services, including authentication, notification, hosting and receipt-processing providers. Their services may be governed by separate terms and may experience interruptions outside our reasonable control.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may maintain, modify, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Where practical, we will provide notice of a material discontinuation.

You are responsible for maintaining any records you need independently of Budgii and for confirming imported, scanned or calculated information before relying on it.

9. Consumer rights and liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, or decisions made from information entered into or generated by Budgii. Any limitation applies only to the extent it is fair and lawful in the circumstances.

10. Suspension, termination and deletion

You may stop using Budgii and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where you materially breach these terms, create security or legal risk, or misuse the service. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect service, legal or operational changes. We will publish the revised terms and update the effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice where reasonably practical.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Australia and the state or territory in which MJ Productions operates, without limiting any mandatory protections available where you live.
